Providing nurturing, compassionate therapy

Currently accepting new patients

About Me

I provide supportive therapy services to individuals and families, including military personnel. I work with adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, issues of self-worth, substance use, grief, loss, and self-harm. I recently ran an intensive outpatient program for people with acute mental health issues in a hospital based environment, and enjoy working with this population as well.

What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy approach often used in trauma therapy to help the brain process and heal from distressing experiences. When something overwhelming happens, the brain’s natural ability to process it can get “stuck,” leaving you feeling triggered, anxious, or reactive long after the event is over.

EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements or tapping—to help the brain reprocess these experiences so they feel less intense and no longer interfere with your present life. Many people find that memories become less vivid, emotions feel more manageable, and negative beliefs begin to shift.

How I Use EMDR Therapy in My Practice

As an EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist, I tailor EMDR therapy to each individual client. We begin by building a strong foundation—developing tools to help you feel grounded, safe, and in control before processing any difficult material.

When you’re ready, we gently identify experiences that may be contributing to current challenges. Using EMDR therapy techniques, I guide you through processing these memories at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your nervous system.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and paced with care. You remain in control throughout the process, and we continually check in to ensure the work feels supportive—not overwhelming.

I offer virtual EMDR therapy to clients in San Diego, California, and throughout California.

What does EMDR Therapy help treat?

EMDR therapy is best known for treating trauma, but it’s also effective for a wide range of concerns, including:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression

  • Phobias and fears

  • Grief and loss

  • Performance anxiety (work, school, athletics)

  • Low self-esteem and negative self-beliefs

It can be helpful for both “big T” trauma (such as accidents or abuse) and “small t” experiences—like ongoing stress, criticism, or difficult relationships—that continue to impact how you feel about yourself and the world.
